Dr. Harshindar Kaur has dedicated her life fighting the curse of female feticide and infanticide.
For close to three decades now, she has worked tirelessly traversing the villages and rural areas of Punjab to fight the spread of the menace of female feticide as well as educating the masses on the disastrous consequences of this inhumane practice.
An outspoken crusader of women rights, she has undertaken many initiatives for women upliftment and empowerment.
Dr. Kaur is the founder of Dr. Harsh Charitable Trust that pays for the education of orphaned children. Starting with just one girl child, the trust now pays for more than 400 orphaned children.
"No Dowry Campaign" is very close to her heart as she believes dowry is the main reason behind female feticide. This campaign is fast becoming a movement and already youth in thousands across the globe have pledged not to accept or give dowry.
A practicing pediatrician at Rajindra Hospital Patiala, Dr. Harshindar Kaur has 45 books to her credit on child psychology. Some of these books have been translated in various languages and are being added as part of academic curriculum in schools and colleges.
Her efforts have been recognized world over. She is the recipient of numerous national and international awards and honors for her tireless work spanning decades.
